When it comes to famous addresses, Rodeo Drive ranks with the best of them. The globally acclaimed retailer Brioni has its flagship location on this legendary street, showing their high-style line of hand-tailored suits, formalwear, sportswear, dress shirts, luggage, and accessories for men and women.

With a reputation for elegance at stake, Brioni called on Essential Communications to oversee every last detail of their audio and music management. The A/V firm installed a meticulously planned multi-zone audio system that would create an appropriate sonic environment for each of its three 1,000-square-foot floors and the VIP zone. Three easy-to-use AEI ProDisc systems that hold four hours of music each were put in place, and commanded by Rane CP 64 preamps and a foolproof Rane ZR1 remote with nothing more than level and input selection controls, making it simple for busy store staff to operate.

Just as important was Essential Communications' keen attention to the branding of Brioni, selecting Bose speakers in this instance for more than just their audio quality. "Think of Pierce Brosnan dressed as James Bond," Essential Communications President David Schwartz said in an interview for Sound & Communications magazine. "The look is classic gentleman, well fitted, classic, good-looking, well-dressed men, and every aspect of the store has to reinforce that.

"People look up and they see that logo on the speaker and it speaks loud and clear. It says to the customer who recognizes the name that the retailer is using a product that's familiar and has a positive identification as a high-end product. It's like looking at a Ferrari: You know what's involved when you see that label."

Outfitted with a complete understanding of the connection between image and audio, Essential Communications had the know-how to make the Brioni flagship store truly world class.
