Christian Dior means clothes and stores that are high in style. Should their corporate offices be any different?
The renowned retailer of men's and women's fashion made sure that its U.S. headquarters on Fifth Avenue delivered as much of an impact as its Manhattan flagship store. To accomplish that, they called on Essential Communications, the same firm that created the award-winning video wall on 57th Street. At the NYC corporate offices, Essential Communications contributed to a complete redesign with two spaces for high-powered presentations, adding projection capability with laptop connectivity for training, as well as background music functionality.
"Ease of use is key here," says David Schwartz, President of Essential Communications. "Many different types of people use those spaces, so it has to be easy for anyone to work quickly with this equipment. The heart of the system on one floor is an Extron System 7 switcher, and an Extron System 5 switcher on another floor. The projection screens are motorized. Also extremely important was the fact that they didn't want to ever see the projectors, so they're installed in the ceiling, with a mirror that drops down when in use, afterwards the mirror simply folds up."
